Lecture at APEC Digital Education Policy Training

최수정 교수는 2026년 5월 15일 개최된 APEC 디지털 교육정책연수(APEC Digital Education Policy Training)에서 APEC 9개 회원국의 교육정책가들을 대상으로 강의를 진행하였다. 이번 강의에서는 인공지능과 디지털 전환이 직업, 기술, 인력개발 체계를 어떻게 변화시키고 있는지, 그리고 이러한 변화에 대응하여 직업교육훈련(TVET) 정책과 제도가 왜 변화해야 하는지를 중심으로 논의하였다. 또한 최근 개도국에서도 AI 도입에 따른 변화를 직업교육 및 교육정책에 반영하려는 다양한 시도가 이루어지고 있다는 점을 소개하였다. 한국에서도 2022년과 2025년에 디지털 전환 및 AI 대응과 관련된 중요한 교육정책들이 발표되었으나, 현재도 정책을 지속적으로 시험(TESTING)하고, 조정(ADJUSTING)하며, 개선(IMPROVING)해 나가는 과정에 있다는 점을 강조하였다. 이번 강의는 APEC 회원국들과 기술 변화에 대응하는 직업교육 정책 및 미래 TVET 방향에 대해 의견을 공유하는 뜻깊은 기회가 되었습니다.

Prof. Sujung Choi delivered a lecture at the APEC Digital Education Policy Training on May 15, 2026, for education policymakers from nine APEC member economies.

The lecture was titled:

“AI and Digital Transformation: Why TVET Must Change”

The session focused on how artificial intelligence and digital transformation are reshaping occupations, skills, and workforce development systems, and why TVET policies and institutions must respond proactively to these changes.

The lecture also highlighted that many developing countries are increasingly attempting to integrate AI-related changes into TVET and education policies.

In Korea, important education policy initiatives related to digital transformation and AI were introduced in 2022 and 2025. However, the process remains ongoing, with policies still being continuously tested, adjusted, and improved.

The lecture provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the future of TVET and policy responses to technological change across APEC member economies.
